People message me about partner codes all the time. Same question every time: do they give you free trades or discounted spreads?
No. AvaTrade has no commission on forex trades. You pay the spread. That's your trading cost. A partner code won't affect it.
Partner code 128979 gets you access to the deposit bonus. Extra funds in your account based on how much you put in. That's all it does.
Bonus amounts?
A $1,000 deposit gets you $200.
$2,000 adds $400.
Deposits between $5,000 and $9,999 get $1,000.
Maximum bonus is $14,000 for deposits above $100,000. That's for serious capital.
British traders get £160 bonus on £800 deposits. Scales up to £11,200 maximum.
You can open an account with $100. Minimum for any bonus is $1,000.
Where to enter the code
When you're signing up. After you enter your phone number, there's a small link saying "Have a Partner Code?". Click the arrow. A field drops down. Type **128979**.
Easy to miss since it's collapsed by default.
Sometimes it shows as invalid, don't worry. Go ahead and register anyway. Contact support before funding. Request partner code 128979 be added. They handle this regularly.
There's a more info catch with the bonus
You need to trade a certain volume.
Around 10,000 units per dollar of bonus. A $200 bonus means trading 2,000,000 units before that $200 unlocks. Takes a while if you trade small. Active traders hit it quicker than expected.
Your deposit is yours. Take it out anytime. Bonus funds remain locked until volume is met.
Something useful to understand: locked bonus funds still contribute to your margin. Allows for slightly larger trades. That breathing room helps while you're learning.
AvaTrade in brief
Licensed by six regulators: FCA, ASIC, CySEC, FSCA, FSA Japan, ADGM. Segregated client accounts. They've been around since 2006.
You get MT4, MT5, AvaTradeGO mobile app, and WebTrader. Use whichever you like. Same account works across all of them.
EUR/USD spread starts at 0.9 pips. Commission-free.
Note the dormancy fee. Three months without trading costs $50.
Good fit for
Newer traders who want decent regulation and multiple platform options. Traders interested in AvaProtect trade insurance.
Skip this if
Scalp traders. The spreads are fine but not exceptional. ECN brokers will beat them on cost if you're trading high volume.
Those looking to buy actual equities. No real share ownership here.
